Campaigning at the Festival Western de St-Tite, one of the largest western festivals in North America, Duceppe said it's an example of a festival that's getting shortchanged, because the federal program isn't well-adapted to the situation in Quebec.

"The St-Tite western festival is one of Quebec's biggest festivals with $50 million worth of economic fallout, including $4 million for the federal government. However, it doesn't have access to the federal government's financing program for big festivals because it is not located in a big centre. That is profoundly unfair."
