Animal 0 Posté(e) le 22 novembre 2008 Mad-cow disease found in B.C. bovine The Province Published: Tuesday, November 18, 2008 The Canadian Food Inspection Agency yesterday confirmed that mad-cow disease has been found in a seven-year-old B.C. dairy cow. The agency wouldn't say where the cow was located but said no part of its carcass entered the human food or animal feed systems. Dr. Connie Argue, CIFA's animal health manager for Western Canada, said the agency will track all cows of a similar age from the same farm that may have eaten contaminated feed. The discovery does not mean the food chain is compromised, she said, adding that it is likely many of the similarly aged dairy cows potentially exposed to contaminated feed would no longer be alive. The doctor said that once the tracking of the potentially compromised cows is complete, the results will be made public.
