1 groupe d'artistes autrichien compte extraire un embryon de 22 semaines d'une vache vivante et le manger. Cet événement créatif doit avoir lieu (ou a déjà eu lieu) aujourd'hui., dans une gallerie viennoise.

Sick artists are to remove a 22-week-old embryo from a living cow and eat it as part of a bizarre exhibition.

The artists - at the Wechselstrom gallery in Vienna - plan to carry out the stunt this Saturday and serve up the unborn calf with organic wine from local vintners.

Organiser Christoph Theiler claimed the calf's mother would not be hurt saying: "The meat is very soft. The embryos are about as big as a cat. It will only take around five minutes. The adult cow will not notice anything."

Animal rights ombudsman Hermann Gsandtner said: "We were confronted with this group’s plans already last year."

Gsandtner said that the veterinary inspection office did already get in touch with the artists group.

The office of Vienna’s Consumers’ Representation said in a statement: "We think that the gallery only wants to draw media attention with this fake action."

It has been announced that the city of Vienna will send officers of the MA60, its veterinary inspection office to the gallery in Vienna-Ottakring, the city’s 16th district, on Saturday.
