Animal 0 Posté(e) le 1 juin 2011 To all my "animal loving" friends.... Please accept this as an urgent call for help - please don't feel pressure in any way- but if anybody can or wants to help, I would be extremely grateful and most indebted. I'm heart broken and trying to do anything I can to help my friend, whose life is hanging in the balance as I write this. Please read a summary of what happenned below, then please see the final paragraph for "how to help" if you wish to do so...Please be patient and read the pertinent info below. My friend Teresa is an angel on Earth and it looks like we are losing her and I'm desperately looking for help - If she survives somehow, it would be the worst tragedy of all if she finds out that something has happened to her beloved animals: all of whom she rescued over the years and all of whom depend entirely on Rose to survive at this time. While I was on the phone having a lovely chat with my dear friend Teresa Contente-Blondin last evening, she suddenly fell to the ground screaming in pain and then could not breathe. I managed to get 911 from my other line and listened in horror as she gasped for her last breaths. Teresa is a 51 years young , strong and vital woman with no prior health problems. This attack was sudden and severe and by the time help arrived to her farm house near Hawksbury Ontario, she was in such critical state that she was taken by helicopter to a Neuro Trauma Unit in Ottawa. Last night the neurosurgeons stated that she suffered a massive aneurism (brain hemmorage) while she and I were on the phone and that she was in a deep coma and on life support. She has been in the OR all night and day as they try to perform heroic measures to save her- but the specialists have stated that it does not look like Teresa will survive...And if she should by some miracle, that she would likely be vegetative as her brain is massively damaged at this point. Teresa has dedicated her life to saving abused animals from every horrific situation imaginable and she operates a private shelter on her land for 37 cats and 19 dogs, all of whom she saved from horrific abuse and abandonment and have special needs. Without Teresa, the animals are in a very urgent situation right now. So I got in touch with a wonderful and dear friend of Teresa's named Rose who operates a Refuge for abused horses in the area - and Rose has stepped right up to assume the urgent care of Teresa's 56 animals. It does not look like Teresa will survive this and Rose is heroically assumed the responsibility to take care of the 56 cats and dogs on top of the existing load of her own rescue group and shelter. We love Teresa and from knowing her we know without a doubt that Teresa must be afforded the dignity and compassion to somehow know that we are looking after her animals that mean more to Teresa than anything in the world. She has tirelessly devoted her entire life to rescuing them and caring for them. I am desperately trying to get help for my dear friend who is in a coma now- and whose last words to me as she struggled to stay conscious during this horrific incident last night were "please help my animals". So this is what Rose has committed to do- she is only minutes away from Teresa's farm and will deal with their care but I want to get her as much support as possible. She already has so many mouths to feed.... And to have to suddenly absorb 56 more creatures? She will need support. And I really want to try my best to get any help for Rose that I can. If you think you can help, even in any small way, tax receipts will be issued to you for any donation. Also, please forward to your animal friends....Any donations of cat/dog food, blankets, litter etc. would be deeply appreciated as well. Below is Rose's web site for her Refuge, I urge you to look at it so you will understand how this amazing woman operates. Donations can be made through the website by credit card etc. (the "Canada Helps" tab- and an immediate tax receipt issued to you online) But you must specify, so Rose knows the allocation of any funds, that your contribution is for "The Teresa Contente Emergency". Rose will direct any funds to the urgent care of Teresa's rescue animals. Rose's website is www.refugerr.org The old fashioned way is to send a check and Rose will mail back a tax receipt. The check must specify on the bottom "memo" part that this is for "The Teresa Contente Emergency". Ms. Rose Gergely,R & R Refuge For Horses,21305 Concession 10,Alexandria, Ontario,K0C 1A0Cell Phone: (438) 837-1155 Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help that anyone can provide. This truly is an tragic emergency. Teresa is an outstanding human being who deprived and devoted herself always and fully for the welfare of abused animals....and whether or not she survives, I need to know that I tried to get as much support as possible to the one wonderful woman who has stepped forward, Rose, so that Teresa's rescue animals can live on. Any small amount would be deeply and dearly appreciated. Love,Meredith(514) 777-4655 Partager ce message Lien à poster Partager sur d’autres sites
