deadvenom-x 0 Posté(e) le 7 août 2010 I know on average, that in order to breed female BCI they are to be at least 3 years of age. Some people say at least 5lbs, some say otherwise. I was curious to what some of the breeders say here. What is the "rule" you go by? I have a female (as most have seen) that I bought from Stav back in 2007 that I am wanting to breed. Im very unsure though if I ever can. Her mom was a very small BCI so I am assuming my girl took those genetics along with her. She is roughly 3.5 years old now and 6-7lbs. She may be more as the last time I weighed her she was 6lbs 3 months ago. I have been feeding her 1/2lb rabbits and large rats twice a month but she just doesnt grow anymore lol. She is 5'4" and has been for the past 8 months. What do you guys think? Here she is, as most of you know. bad photo but the best recent photo I have of her to show her girthIf possible, I plan on breeding her to my "special" male or his brother (a sunglow)On a side note, hopefully this big girl will be a mom this upcoming seasonSize comparison(at a reptile presentation for those who are wondering)and dad to be if things work out..what a size difference lol Partager ce message Lien à poster Partager sur d’autres sites

MecGen 0 Posté(e) le 15 août 2010 Hi I would definitely try to breed that female, this year or next is your decision, I really don't have that much experience to say one way or another. I really like the fact it seems to be a runt, I definitely think this is a great (possible) genetic trait that could be explored. IMHOP small Boas in captivity make good sense, but then again I am biased, I work with Amarali'sSad to say its that time of the year when breeders start thinking about...don't say it....don't say it.....winter Good LuckFrank Partager ce message Lien à poster Partager sur d’autres sites

Damn winter! I think I am going to go ahead and breed her, Jeremy Stone as well as a few others gave me the OK. I know alot of people said no on other forums, but alot of them dont breed, as I was looking for boa breeders to answer. I also agree with you that smaller genetics are possibly a good thing, people wont start dumping boas because they get to big or they are to much to feed, for a few examples. Thanks again for your reply! Partager ce message Lien à poster Partager sur d’autres sites
