Malheureusement, celle-ci comprend nombre de supporters qui mettent bien sûr en avant qu'une interdiction mettra à mal toute une économie dépendants de ces "spectacles"etc... La Louisiane et le Nouveau-Mexique sont les 2 seuls états où les combats de coqs sont encore autorisés. Reported by The Associated Press The Louisiana Senate voted yesterday to ban cockfighting and leave New Mexico as the only state in the nation where it's allowed. The 30-4 vote moved the proposed ban to the House, where it will face strong opposition from longtime supporters of cockfighting, most importantly Representative Francis Thompson, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee. The sponsor, Senator Art Lentini, called cockfighting a form of animal cruelty that encourages illegal gambling and could lead to an outbreak of bird flu. Supporters acknowledged that a ban would hurt feed stores and other businesses that rely on income from people who breed chickens for fighting, but say the state's economy shouldn't be built on cockfighting. Voting against the ban were Senators Heulette "Clo'' Fontenot, Don Cravins, Craig Romero and Senate President Don Hines. animo-aequoanimo 0 Posté(e) le 26 mai 2006 Je crois aussi qu'on avait déjà parlé de combats de coqs dans un précédent bulletin, alors ça fera suite et peut-être que dans une prochaine nouvelle, nous pourrons annoncer qu'eux aussi interdisent dorénavant les combats de coqs.
