Foie gras is barbaric


Elevages Perigord's response to the undercover footage made by the Global Action Network showing the cruel way ducks are treated in its foie-gras facility has been problematic.

First, managers suggested they were not aware of the situation, even though supervisors were filmed observing the behaviour. Second, the company suggested the tapes implicated only one employee, even though eight were filmed and are being investigated by the Sécurité du Québec.

Foie gras production is inherently inhumane, and 14 countries have already banned it. It is disgraceful that Canada has allowed this barbaric industry to gain a foothold here.
