Joshua Rosenberg, 29, taken into custody on Sunday.He is charged with criminal mischief for spray painting a Congress Avenuerestaurant that sells fois gras -- a goose or duck liver.Critics say the animals are cruelly-treated because they are force-fed tofatten up their livers.Animal rights activist wanted by policeThursday afternoon, one week after someone vandalized the windows outsideRestaurant Jezebel downtown - you could still see the acid marks.The vandal wrote "spit it out" across the front windows.Police say the statement refers to the dish foie gras - which is served atJezebel.Foie gras is goose or duck liver. The animals are force-fed beforeslaughter.It's a practice - that draws weekly protests outside Jezebel.Members of the group Central Texas Animal Defense say foie gras is inhumane."For 3 months we've been harassed - our customers have been harassed," saidParind Vora, Jezebel Owner and Chef.Vora says after his restaurant was hit by vandals in July - he knew he hadto fight back."After the first vandalism, we put up cameras. Some are hidden - some arenot. He killed the power to the building hoping it killed the cameras... butwe had battery back-up."Surveillance cameras caught the vandal on camera last week.You can see him writing on the windows outside.Police say he is Joshua Rosenberg.On his myspace.com page he says he fights for human and animal rights."Unfortunately, they're taking matters into their own hands and damagingproperty which is not the way to go about it," said APD Detective JamesMason.Police say Rosenberg posted pictures of the vandalism on a websiteregistered to him.They also say protestors knew him and identified him as the vandal."These people threatened my family. They used acid on my windows. All ofthem are completely destroyed," said Vora.He says he has no problem with demonstrating - but he should not fear forhis safety - or that of his family.Rosenberg is charged with criminal mischief.
