For most of scorpions that require higher humidity I just make sure the substrate is moist enough and they seem to do just fine without a water bowl.

I am not sure about that one. I have had a pregnant emperor for close to a year before she actually gave birth. I was not expecting it.

Each time I buy an emperor I am usually buying a large gravid female. I tried breeding them once and the female ended up eating the male and I never got any babies. I have witnessed female emperors countless times eat the babies. I believe it was because I had disturbed the female too much. I find a lot of the time with arachnids all you need to do is give them what they need, feed them well and leave them be and you will have success! With my buthids I do wait until the babies have their first moult and then I remove them myself. Once the babies are removed then I feed the mother. I would think you would have the most success with large species like Pandinus and Heterotmetrus to just leave the babies with the mother for a good long time... Even past the time of their first moult. Good Luck!
