Merci Matt,

I hope nobody minds i will reply in english.
For those who do not know me, my name is Mardy McManus. I'm a Canadien reptile breeder that now lives in South East Asia. I work on a snake farm and do lots of jungle trips. As well as going to reptile facilities in many countries.

Lots has been said about retics....WOW so far in this post.
The study does give you an eye into what i have been seeing. Maturity rates from all areas seems to be the same - highly variable. In mainland Malaysia we see females as small as 6 feet laying eggs. But the norm is 10-12
From the Indo retics, the Exporters etc. now have 4 superdwarf types and 2 dwarf types. plus the full size ones.
The sizes of these smaller animals varies, but on average from each of the islands the animals do grow smaller. They do carry pattern and color variations by locale but they can be quite similar. And can not be really used as a means of ID.
All over the colors and patterns vary so much that ID but that is not accurate. From what i have seen in a simplified way is this. You see 5 or 6 color/pattern types normally from the wild ones from many different locals. Some areas have more of one type than another, and so one. But they are not good markers as these animals are just to variable. And they are so many natural morphs that it is incredible, i have seen 30+ types now.

I will get some pictures together and post up retics from different countries and locals.

Cheers,

Mardy

Hi Mardy!

Thank's for coming in to clarify things about retic. There is so much lies and misinformation about size, pattern and color over the net that it take someone with feet ever there to tell the truth.
P.S. You can post in english as much as you want.
Take care my friend.
