I have been asked to write a little about the odd coloured V. a. ammodytes "Zokadelic"-morph.

So.. Here is the story..

I have a pair of gray (1.1) V. a. ammodytes with location Kôrita, Bosnia. They where bred by a friend of mine here in Sweden in 1997. They have produced offspring every year since they where 3 years old, with clutches ranging from 5 to more then 20 young ones.
In 2005, the usual clutch came, with normal gray juveniles. All looking as they should, except one.. It was completley black / white with a really broad zigzag marking on it´s back. The head was almost copper brown in some angles.

Now, this only male produces black / white babies, but the funny thing is that ONLY the males in each clutch is coloured this way. The females looks like the mother.

I am hoping to be able to produce females with this colourations too, but it is a long project that I am working on.

If somebody could explain the genetics for me, I would be happy. Also what to call this colouration. Is it menalistic, amenalistic, or what?

Ainsi.. Voici l'histoire..

J'ai une paire de gris (1.1) V. a. ammodytes avec emplacement Kôrita, la Bosnie. Ils où élevé par un ami ici en Suède en 1997. Ils ont produit le résultat chaque année puisqu'ils où 3 ans, avec des prises aux limites de 5 à plus alors 20 jeunes.
En 2005, la prise habituelle est venue, avec des adolescents gris normaux. Tout le regard comme ils devraient, sauf un.. C'était completley noir / blanc avec une vraiment large inscription de zigzag sur cela est de retour. La tête(le responsable) était le brun presque de cuivre dans quelques angles.

Maintenant, ce seul mâle produit noir / des bébés blancs, mais la chose drôle sont ce SEULS les mâles dans chaque prise sont colorés cette voie. Les femmes ressemblent à la mère.

J'espère être capable de produire des femmes avec ces colorations aussi, mais c'est un long projet sur lequel je travaille(marche).

Si quelqu'un pourrait expliquer la génétique pour moi, je serais heureux. Aussi qu'appeler cette coloration. Est cela menalistic, amenalistic, ou que ?

Thanks for posting this so quickly and for the pics! Since 2005, do you have a B&W baby for each of your clutch? Interesting stuff as regards the males being the only ones coloured this way, I guess that other people will focus on this point in the forum.

No "problemos"..

No, I haven´t saved any but 1 male, and he is born 2006.
I will save at least one male from this year, and perhaps two females. I will later on try to breed the siblings, in order to get "Zokadelic" females. I do not know any other way to do this.

Non, je n'ai sauvé(économisé) aucun, mais 1 mâle et il est né 2006.
Je sauverai au moins un mâle de cette année et peut-être deux femmes. J'essayerai plus tard d'élever les enfants de mêmes parents, pour obtenir des femmes "Zokadelic". Je ne sais(connais) pas d'autre façon de le faire.
