  1. Marie-Laure : U r right; he is crazy, but it is his imprinting on me to be blamed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rudy : U r right, too. Lots of way to avoid rostral abrasions [larger and more stimilating enclosure, a black adesive stripe on the glass, cover the viv....electroshock (ehm i don't remember if this latter is to be done to the owner or to the pet)...etc] but it is a common evenience at the importers'facilities.
he went quickly better as soon as i ended stressing him with the resting metabolic records.

  2. i m fashinated from whatever Species of snakes i never bred either venomous or not, liking to keep a few species a time to be able to learn as much as i can, taking as many data as i can, till i breed them.
regarding the venomous, at present interested in the genetics of the venom : now that hatchlings are a daily matter, i suggest who can be interested, if any, to plan a cross between 2 Species of the same Genus (for example Naja), and have performed the usual Chemical-Pharmachological tests of the F1 venom. the first step can be a very easy to obtain spectrophotometric shapes.
    The same for the F2.
at the F2 generation it will be evident the first shape of what we are looking for.
u can subscribe the International Society on Toxinology in order to have a competent help near ur home

  3. ok Mr. or Miss Dap-Dap

no needs at all to keep venomous snakes !!!! so many worthy not venomouses.... i like and think worthy the lesser things like Storeria, Duberria, Boaedon Chionactis and.... thousands to name all.
usually i see people keeping snakes as a challenge to themselves or to people : u can see it by their breathlessness to keep the most dangerous or rare or 'fashioned trend' of the
    moment.
last week my son Leo was with me at the home of a very trustable venomous keeper and he witnessed his fear , leaving a green mamba to his destiny (dehydratation and mouth-rot) cause.... not in the will to handle him every 2 days.
    about me ?
i house a brain disease . a big bug. unable to see any differences between a venomous and a not venomous snake.Don't imitate me, but pls leave me the choise to be myself within my home walls.
if u need a choise trimeresurus are a nice one, better boiga. but first, please try keeping Coluber viridiflavus or Malpolon or Corallus hortulanus to go used to their bites.
a real challenge : find & breed Coronella, and rise the offspring
    buona fortuna
    grazie
    ciao

  4. I WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM A REAL SURGICAL SUTURE I SELECTED A CONTAINING WAY BY APPLYING A TEFLON GRAP, BUT HE DIED 2 DAYS LATER. I M PREPARING CEREBRAL SLIDES, BUT FOR WHAT I SEE CEREBUM HAS ABNORMAL MASS (DENDROGLIA CELLS?)
    THNKS

  5. i HAD THE PAIR LAST sEPTEMBER
COPULATIONS STERTED IN OCTOBER AND LOTS DURING NOVEMBER. SOME STILL OBSERVED IN DEC.JAN AND 1 IN MARCH.
IN DEC/JAN THE SUGAR BLOOD VALUES OF THE FEMALE WENT TO A YO-YO STYLE FROM VERY HIGH TO VERY LOW : I FEARED FOR HYDROCEPHALUM (AND AS YOU CAN SEE I WAS NOT SO WRONG). PANCREAS WAS UNAFECTED. THEN I ASKED FOR HELP, ASKING EVERYBODY (NOT HERE CAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS BANNED HERE) . NOBODY REPLIED. ALL I DID WAS TO TURN HER DIET TO LIZARD/FROGS INSTEAD OF MICE TO KEEP UNDERS CONTROL DIGESTIVE SUGAR.FEBRUARY SHE STOPPED FEEDING
FROM LATE APRIL SHE ASSUMED A PRE-PARTURITION POSITIONS AND SELECTED WARMER CORNERS. ANAL PLATE PRE OPENED SINCE 2ND HALF OS MAY. NO PRE-LAYING SHED OBSERVED.ON THE GROUND LAST JUNE 16 AND GAVE BIRTHS. 6 LIVING, 8 SLUGS.
ONLY 1 WITH EXPOSED BRAIN (LAMBDA SUTURE AMONGST THE 2 PARIETALS AND THE FRONTAL BONES OF THE SKULL FAILED TO CLOSE DUE TO THE ABNORMAL CEREBRAL MASS).
UMIDITY WENT FROM 60 TO 100% (AT NIGHT). TEMP 31°-23 AND 28°-19°C DURING BREEDING TIME

    HOPE EVERYBODY OF U WELL
    HAVE A NICE TIME
    UGO
