Merci. Vous avez vu qu'il y a deux mois, j'ai su que rien au sujet des oiseaux de shama autres que le shama n'est le plus timide et le plus timide de l'oiseau volière et n'aviez jamais maintenu le shama dans ma vie. Yingshiong est un vieux shama aussi bien, pas un jeune oiseau avec les meilleures chances d'être apprivoisé ou formé ou à l'obligation avec. Sur le DEC 10ème de samedi, je suis parvenu à persuader Yingshiong pour tolérer mon joie d'épouse à l'intérieur de la salle de vol de prendre des photos de nous ensemble. Les projectiles pris sont meilleurs que celui j'avait pris. Il y avait trois ordres de rappel pur pris par Joy se tenant derrière moi. You have seen that two months ago, I knew nothing about shama birds other than shama is the most shy and most timid of aviary bird and had never kept shama in my life.

Yingshiong is an old shama as well, not a young bird with the best chances of being tamed or trained or to bond with.

I believe all that you need is the understanding and the respect for your birds and creatures to do what I have done or to do even more than what I have done.

I chose not to be the Master but as an equal with my bird, whether the bird is Tinkerbell or YingShiong.

On Saturday Dec 10th, I managed to persuade Yingshiong to
tolerate
my wife Joy inside the flight room to take photos of
us
together.

The shots taken are better than the one I had taken.

There were three sequences of pure recall taken by Joy
standing behind me.

Tinkerbell knew what mirrors were. We lived in different hotels when we travelled and most have the hotel rooms had large mirrors.

Yingshiong sometimes like to fight with her image on glass door. Maybe she did that for entertainment. Maybe he did not know that is a mirror. I do not know.

Une délivrance que je suis impliqué dedans

À environ 11 le DEC 2005 de AM 2, j'ai reçu un appel de mon ami CM. Il a été excité et expliqué à moi il a attrapé un oiseau très coloré marchant autour et incapable de voler. Nous nous sommes réunis vers le haut autour du midi pour succéder cet oiseau. J'ai été étonné que l'oiseau était aussi coloré qu'il a dit et non exagéré du tout. J'ai acheté un petit camp sur mon chemin de nouveau à la subsistance ce coffre-fort d'oiseau tandis que j'essaye de l'apporter de nouveau au rétablissement. J'ai placé en eau et mâche de YS. J'ai osé pas la subsistance qui oiseau avec Yingshiong et décidé pour le mettre en quarantaine.

Je n'ai pas su ce qu'était cet oiseau et la demande de certains des groupes d'oiseau j'était dans une aide d'indentification. Au moins je dois savoir ce qu'était cet oiseau et ce qui pour l'alimenter. Je ne pourrais pas trouver cela sur mes propres J'ai reçu les réponses rapides qui l'OS d'oiseau un pitta à ailes bleu et qui le régime est semblable au shama. Mon ami CM l'a vu dans un centre commercial. Le pitta ne pouvait pas vers le haut dont voler et était si faible en tant qu'autrement l'ami à moi maladroit n'aurait pas pu le sélectionner. Le CM avait peur que les chats ou les chiens ou d'autres pourraient en avoir après ce pauvre oiseau. Ma première réaction devait diminuer quand il m'a appelé au téléphone, que je . Alors je me suis senti que je ne pourrais pas simplement marche loin, et ai changé d'avis et suis allé au centre ville obtenir le pitta du CM pendant qu'il entrait dans une réunion pour tout le après-midi. Ainsi il était destin karmic que le pitta est maintenant dans mes mains. J'ai vérifié et definately, le pitta ne pouvait pas voler clairement.

Ainsi vous comprenez mon hésitation maintenant pour placer le pitta en arrière dans le centre commercial. Particulièrement plus pour le pitta est faible. Après ma session de matin avec YS, j'ai vérifié le pitta encore. Le pitta récupère et regard bien mieux aujourd'hui qu'hier après que donné la mâche de Yingshiong que j'ai pensée est une bonne première difficulté générique comme je devine que l'oiseau était un insectivore avant l'identification. J'ai pensé qui peut être un bavard d'abord. J'ai eu quelques craintes de la grippe d'oiseau d'abord. Je suis beaucoup plus soulagé maintenant et son ancienne faiblesse pourrait avoir été de manque de nourriture, ou de nourriture inadéquate. Pourrait avoir été probable pour être un oiseau captif non occupé correctement et alors non abandonné pour mourir dans un centre commercial. Heureusement pour le pitta que je maintenant ai de la connaissance des insectivores, loin un cri des jours tôt où je suis venu la première fois ici et me suis tenu sur un soapbox parlant en faveur de l'aide. J'ai ajouté des vers de farine au bol de mâche et si tout va bien sa force soit encore meilleure. Avec la formation intensive de YS, et pendant que j'obtenais a certifed le tueur Ivan à la maison, une salle disponible est maintenant une maison provisoire pour le pitta. Je n'ai pas le temps pour un autre oiseau ou même les équipements pour un autre oiseau. Quand il est bon et fort, je le prendrai à un habitat plus approprié et le laisse probablement poursuivre avec sa vie. A rescue that I am involved in



At about 11 am 2 Dec 2005, I received a call from my
friend CM. He was excited and explained to me he
caught a very colorful bird walking around and unable
to fly. We met up around noon to take over that bird.
I was surprised that the bird was as colourful as he
said and not exaggerated at all.


I bought a small cage on my way back to keep that
bird safe while I try to bring him back to recovery. I
placed in water and YS mash. I dared not keep that
bird with Yingshiong and decided to quarantine it.

I did not know what this bird was and request from
some of the bird groups I was in an indentification
assistance. At least I need to know what this bird was
and what to feed it. I could not find that on my own

I received swift replies that the bird os a blue
winged pitta and that the diet is similar to the
shama.


My friend CM saw it in a shopping mall. The pitta was
unable to fly and was so weak as otherwise that clumsy friend of
mine would not have been able to pick him up. CM was afraid
that cats or dogs or other people could get at that poor bird.

My first reaction was to decline when he called me on
phone, which I did. Then I felt I could not just walk away, and
changed my mind and went downtown to get the pitta from CM as he was going
into a meeting for the whole afternoon.

So it was karmic destiny that the pitta is now into my
hands. I checked out and definately, the pitta was unable to
fly meaningfully.

So you understand my reluctance now to place the pitta
back in the shopping mall. Especially more so as the pitta is
weak.

After my morning session with YS, I checked on the
pitta again.

The pitta is recovering and look much better today
than yesterday after given Yingshiong mash which I thought is a good
generic first fix as I guess that bird was an insectivore prior to
identification. I thought that may be a babbler at first.

I did have some fears of bird flu at first. I am much
more relieved now and his former weakness might have been from lack
of food, or inappropriate food. Might have been likely to be a
captive bird not looked after properly and then abandoned to die in a
shopping mall.

Luckily for the pitta that I now do have some
knowledge of insectivores, a far cry from the early days when I
first came here and stood on a soapbox pleading for help.

I added mealworms to the mash bowl and hopefully his
strength be even better.

With the intensive training of YS, and as I got a
certifed killer Ivan at home, a spare room is now a temporary home for
the pitta. I do not have time for another bird or even the
facilities for another bird.

When he is good and strong, I probably will take it to
a more appropriate habitat and let him get on with his life.

Je me suis donné 5 % de chances de succès au début si je pourrai enlever le shama juste comme ce que j'ai fait avec Tinkerbell. Je pense que mes chances sont deux fois aussi bonnes maintenant et sont peut-être 10 % car le shama est un type volière si timide oiseau.

Plus tôt, vous vu les photos de YS planant à ma main pour prendre à sien des festins.

Vous pouvez voir les dernières photographies de nous pris par mon épouse il y a quelques jours. Yingshiong mon shama me font confiance assez pour voler à moi et pour se tenir sur ma main.



C'est le début du processus pour former le shama pour voler à moi sur la sélection, ou ce que nous décrivons comme rappel. De YS la mouche déjà à moi, mais ceci sera serrée avec la cible et le clicker, et la gestion judicieusement appliquée de nourriture. Beaucoup plus de formation doit être faite avant qu'il puisse sans risque être volé dans l'ouvert. La formation de rappel est le début de ce long processus. I gave myself 5 % chances of success at the beginning
if I will be able to take the shama out just like what
I did with Tinkerbell. I think my chances are twice
as good now and is perhaps 10 % as the shama is such
a shy aviary type bird.

Earlier, you seen the photos of YS hovering at my hand
to take his treats.

Yingshiong my shama trust me enough to fly to me and
stand on my hand.




This is the start of the process to train the shama to
fly to me on cue, or what we describe as the recall.
YS already fly to me, but this will be tightened with
target and clicker, and judiciously applied food
management.

Much more training must be done before he can safely
be flown in the open. The recall training is the
start of that long process.

Le rapport avec tout mes créatures, chat ou furet, ou même avec mon épouse (tout difficile qu'il peut être), est un rapport entre les égales, même si elles pensent qu'elles sont plus importantes que vous. Tinkerbell est ma fille et j'aime ses plus que les mots peuvent indiquer.

Si vous les voulez comme compagnon et comme amis, vous ne pouvez pas être le seigneur et le maître au-dessus d'eux.

Tinkerbell is trained to be gentle, and to understand the word gentle before I allowed her to be on my shoulder. If you parrot is not gentle, it will be dangerous to allow the parrot to be on your shoulder. Read how I did that in Tinkerbell webpage.

La laisse ne doit pas être fixée aux jambes des perroquets. Les jambes des perroquets ne sont pas fortes comme celles des aigles et des faucons.

La laisse est fixée à un harnais spécial que j'ai conçu et ai fait pour Tinkerbell. Vous pouvez trouver les détails complets dans sa page Web.

Encore de plus grande importance que le harnais, vous trouverez de pleins disques de la formation que nous avons faite ensemble.

Votre perroquet doit être formé pour voler à vous sur le rappel. Votre perroquet doit obligation avec vous et vous faire confiance beaucoup. Vous devez former le perroquet à comme le harnais. Le harnais que vous faites doit être sûr et confortable pour le perroquet. Surtout, vous devez aimer et être très patient avec votre perroquet.

The leash must not be attached to the legs of parrots. Parrot legs are not strong like eagles and hawks.

The leash is attached to a special harness I designed and made for Tinkerbell. You can find full details in her webpage.

Of even greater importance than the harness, you will find full records of the training that we have done together.

Your parrot must be trained to fly to you on recall. Your parrot must bond with you and trust you very much. You must train the parrot to like the harness. The harness that you make must be safe and comfortable for the parrot. Most of all, you must love and be very patient with your parrot.
