Welcome, Jon and Melanie Smile. Sorry if i didnt answer to the emails, my adress was off of the ''send-list'' and i didnt get most of the last ones.

I just grabbed myself some pretty fun ''jumpy and worthless'' snakes today, you'll be proud of me, hehe. There will be pics relatively soon!!!!

I'll give you guys a clue, they are relatively common as morphs but regulars are a rare sight in the hobby...

I actually found that option when trying to figure out my profile options...I find it funny that the site becomes French Canadien, French with a little English mixed in tongue . Makes the navigation easier though....
Heres some pictures (we still like pictures...right???) of tonights feeding adventure.....
Bowl fed Thamnophis...

Almost...

Got it...

I'll save some for later....

No special mix...yet. Just chopped worms and pinky/fuzzies.

Thanks Manu - that helps a lot;) ... for a moment there, I thought I was having one of my moments ... It's good to see rancor out and about again with that most curious little strapped carty thing of his in tow & some thamnophis photos... this little puget-head wasn't keen on switching to pinks, until I used the special mix. It took the pinky head and left the wormy goodness ... go figure

ps nice wee courin', timorous pits Wink

Hot damn, Pugets! Nice to see such variety posted already. Not that I expected any different with this bunch of miscreants.

Thanks Manu. Though I fear I still may have done something wrong as it all looks French to me still, but most of the roots of the words make it somewhat easy to figure most of it out.

rancor soon you'll be strapping the feed bag to the little beauty. I second Jon's comment & also appreciate your style in feed bowls.

I leave you with one of tonight's chow shots. Unfortunately much less gory but hey does it count if the food is melanistic at least? geek

Thanks so much to Justin and Manu for the great opportunity to come over here, it looks like we'll be able to have some fun, and as a guy who got banned over 'there' for the crime of 'making fun of a mod', I'm looking forward to checking in here to see what everyones up to! Very Happy looks like some great pics of cool serpents already.

Its hard to terrorize this site like we did the last one when I havent got the foggiest clue whats going on outside these 2 English threads... But rest assured when I stop being so lazy (never) and brush of my second official language skills..... Ahh who am I kidding, how can I write a mean post with all these fancy smiley faces staring at me? Question
Mr. Davidson, those little melanistic gardener snakes have earned their J&W stripes 10 times over. It is almost impossible to get a clear picture of them, hence the feeding pics. Preoccupied = less jumpy. But perhaps I should have placed a warning infront of those pictures. I assure the public though, that I treated those feeders with the utmost respect right up until the time I diced their frozen meat with scissors. Its the worms I always feel for though, they're alive still.... But seriously, I wasnt aware that there were so many people with reptiles that get antsy when viewing feeding pictures ( referring to another thread, if ya catch my drift Arrow ). Nothing natural to see here...These are all artificial conditions... Wink
Mr. Pool, I am quite envious of those pickeringii, too bad about the female. Did you have to bring them up from south of the 49th? Ive never seen them offered here, but thats the same with many Thamnophis species that seem to be floating here and there.....Very nice nonetheless! Cool
A few more, because Jon told me too........ salut

For an attempt at a size reference...

Does this one count???

Post Scriptum : Bowl fed snakes are great!
PPS : They're not fat, they just have Oprahs bones......
PPPS : Have I offended anyone yet???

Garters are a pleasure to keep. Heres some reposts of pictures used elsewhere... Avert your eyes lest some of you see them twice....

Bonsoir mes amis......

I'd also like to echo previous sentiments and thank Justin, Stav, Manu, and Marc for making this little reunion possible. Thanks guys. WinkIt's good to see so many familiar names here, and good to know that all of these new members were actually invited to participate on Repticlic. I'm going to wander around for a bit and see how things work on the site. I wrote some stuff en Francais a couple of days ago, and then ran it past a few "new members". Nobody commented, so I guess what I wrote was OK and made perfect sense.......

ps - "haricots verts".......

I think I'm good to go.

As if that's not enough, yesterday I found these "things" in with my CB 2002 Drymarchon corais corais.........

They may look a little "off" to some of you. This is because they are still "wet" (i.e freshly laid). They are all fertile. Trust me.

I guess that's what happens when the adults do this:

Or this....... Embarassed ......

Here comes another one......

Does the planet really need more of these guys?? I certainly think so.

Regards,
D.

Unfortunately, I don't, Nir.
I've read "stories" on the Thamnophis forums of WC baby
pickeringi just getting up and dying; however these were CB and to answer
rancor's inquiry, they are from down yonder. I'd just fed it so called "rosies" and shortly
after found it lying on it's back - after some time it seemed to be doing
better, but was "star gazing". Later that day, I was attending to other serpents
and heard thrashing coming from one of the racks. Uuuum this is getting a little
melodramatic, huh ... anyway, the symptoms seem to suggest thiaminase ingestion,
but I tend to think it would only effect them if subjected to it's presence in
food items over an extended period of time, and nothing I've fed them is known
to contain thiaminase in significant quantities. In other words, I do not know. (then, why not just say that poool ?)
Needless to say, it was a rather disconcerting thing to witness.

Nice looking marcianus. Very different looking examples of "normals". As I've said "elsewhere" [yeah, there, not there], I actually like the "classic" amelanistic look Wink

"white throat" melanistic sirtalis

cuz Phil likes them ... and me too ... cyrtopsis
